Information You Send Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting services create ordinary server logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or comparable technologies may support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
We use this limited information to operate the service, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create profiles of individual visitors.
External Websites
Links may lead to Oakland County and Michigan records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The policy of the destination service governs data submitted there, including data submitted through sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Data Recipients
Providers that host or support the service process server-log information for us. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when required by valid legal process or otherwise permitted by law.
Data Safeguards
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. Because the service has no visitor accounts, it does not keep a password or account profile for a visitor.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Requests
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a website keeps. Since we retain very little, we can search the contact mailbox and applicable server logs for a request. Use the Contact page to ask. Michigan FOIA, MCL 15.231 et seq., concerns records held by public bodies; public records held by Birmingham, Oakland County, or Michigan agencies are outside our control and must be addressed to the relevant custodian.
